      Quiet green hills, trimmed in hedges and dotted with sheep, welcomed us each day of this off-the-beaten-path trip. Wilderness Ireland did not disappoint. Our guide, Denis, was knowledgeable, organized, fun, and respectful, with a keen understanding of our small group's needs. In our seventies, my husband and I felt a bit apprehensive about our ability to start the hike. To put us at ease, Denis said, “Come on, let’s just take a walk.” Well, that we did! The spectacular paths along the northern coastline were breathtaking, yet manageable. If the path became muddy or rocky, Denis was the first to extend a hand and offer assistance, especially when those strong Atlantic winds seemed to speak to us. There were picnics on the summit; rope bridges to cross; abandoned castles to explore; prayerful pilgrimage spots to ponder; views of dramatic sea cliffs; purple heather along the hillside; and we even witnessed a young lad on his knee proposing to his bride on the highest cliff along the Giant’s Causeway. Oh, the hospitality of the Irish people, combined with Denis’ extraordinary leadership, and the chance to enjoy a pint at the end of the day with our fun traveling companions, Will and Phil, gave us countless memories and a trip of a lifetime.

      Overall great. However a couple of things.day two (first full day) was our biggest. This should be day three as at least one person sat out the next day. Which was much more straight forward. The transit day was supposed to have a long walk but never going to happen because of time. A more accurate itinerary would be good
